Background
Mr. Asit C. Mehta, a 1983 batch Chartered Accountant by qualification decided to build up carrier in the Indian Capital Markets. He started as an Intermediary in short term debt instruments like ICD, Bill Discounting etc. In a very short span he became a recognised financial intermediary amongst leading Corporates. In the year 1985 he bought membership of Stock Exchange, Mumbai. In the year 1986, while he continued to strengthen his position as a leading player in the Indian Debt Market, he was joined by his wife, Mrs. Deena Mehta to commence activity in the stock exchange on the equity side. Deena, a qualified Chartered Accountant and Management Graduate brought alongwith her experience from a leading manufacturing company in arranging long term resources.

Since then the proprietary membership services a full range of clients, retail, institutional, corporates, both on the debt and equity side. The firm grew in strength to strength in terms of clients, product range, computerisation, empanelments, staff strength, turn over, growth and most importantly respect and goodwill both for the promoters and the firm.

In the year 1994, both of them decided to take the next logical step of corporatising the business by becoming the first limited liability corporate member of the Stock Exchange, Mumbai. It shares the platform with a few local brokerages having presence in both the debt and equity markets and membership of both BSE and NSE.
